Class Assignments

Spring comes this time each year

Time to celebrate and have cheer

Cause here comes the warm weather gear

you can hear the birds chirp with glee

because it’s time to come out again

school comes to an end

and all the fun summer plans have just begun

the flowers bloom to bring cheer

the leaves and grass all turn green

the creek begins to warm slowly

perfect to stick your feet in on a warm sunny day

the days become long

time for more fun

time to quit staying indoors

and go out and have fun in the great outdoors

go for a hike and take in the fresh air

and see all the butterflies and bees in the air

the butterflies begin fluttering on all the fresh flowers

and the picnics begin

time to go camping and enjoy the breeze

there is added stress at school

because exams are coming up real soon

but all is well because it is spring

which means that summer is just around the bend

WELCOME BACK SPRING!

How sad…spring break is over.  😦  But it was an absolute BLAST!!  It was just way too short!

My first day of spring break was spent with my brother.  He had his wisdom teeth taken out on Thursday so Friday I stayed with him and we watched a bunch of dvd’s!  I read a lot too.  It was a rather relaxing day.  I also made some delicious yeast sweet rolls from a recipe in my new Fannie Farmer cookbook that I got at an antique store in Floyd back when we went to the Schoolhouse Fabrics for Home Ec class.  I must say that is another great cookbook and it is added to my favorite list!!  So that was my Friday.

During the week I worked.  On Tuesday I got my hair cut!  I love it!  I was a little worried at first because it’s a LOT shorter and I LOVED my long hair but I am VERY happy with it.  It takes no time to dry now and it looks MUCH better I think!  It’s got a whole bunch of layers now.  I was seeing foot long hair pieces falling when I got it cut!  HAHA!  Keelie and Marie came to see me Tuesday before I got it cut and they had got their hair cut too!  That was the funniest thing!  We had a great time talking and laughing!  I won’t say at what though, but Keelie is just a little prankster!

Even though I had to work it was a lot of fun.  I always get to talk to a lot of people and I really enjoy that.  I enjoy answering the phone and all that good stuff.  I always vacuum and sweep and all that stuff that the manly guys don’t enoy doing!  HAHA!  But I just enjoy it and you may think I’m crazy but go ahead!

Friday I went to lunch with my mom, aunt, and my awesome cousin!  We always have a fun time whatever we do!  He of course is a major jokester!  I wouldn’t have it any other way though!  I really think everyone is out to get me sometimes!  HAHA!!

Saturday my dad’s family had a big get together and I’m telling you my stomach still is sore from laughing my head off!!  I can’t even begin to start to tell you all the silly stuff we laughed about!  HAHA I love my family!  Have any of you ever played Mexican train?  It’s a game played with dominoes?  Well we started playing that and it’s a really cool game and you can catch on really quick!  images.jpgThat’s kinda what it looks like.  Look it up if your interested!

Well I guess that is about all the fun and exciting stuff that happened!  It was so warm and it was great!  Hope everyone else had a great one too!!!  🙂

The last spring break of my high school life…how sad 😦

This year I plan to do some college finalizations and maybe do some visiting.  I want to get all of that behind me.  It’s so stressful along with keeping up with school!  WHEW!  I also have plans to get my hair cut but I may chicken out on that.  We shall see.  I kinda want something different but I don’t want to go wrong.

I will probably be doing some work.  All that fun answering the phone and hanging out with the tire people.  Such a lovely environment! 🙂  Actually it is really fun and you can laugh all ya want to but I’ve met some awesome people!

In the rest of the time I’ll probably have some major needed rest and relaxation.  Maybe reading a book, doing some scrapbooking or maybe some baking!  You all would really enjoy the baking part, right?  haha!

So I plan for some major down time and I really want to enjoy this final spring break!  So now all I have to do is wait for it to come!  😀  Can’t wait till FRIDAY!!!!!!!  😀

Wow–this is just almost just plain scary that this is the final quarter of my high school life!  Pretty much all I can say is WOW!  It seems like yesterday I was in Kindergarten!  weird huh?  My plans are to finalize all my college plans.  I really really really wish that what I kinda want to do wasn’t too far away but I just don’t think it would work out.  So right now we are looking at Ferrum or PHCC.  VWCC has a really neat thing where I could go 2 years and then go another year and get my culinary arts certificate and then go on to Ferrum or another 4 year school.  But by then that would be 5 years of college??  whew!  It would probably fly by though.  It just seems so nice because I could get internships easily and it would be something I LOVE but we will have to see where God takes me.  Right now I may be looking into Accounting or Business.  I just really want to get it down “pat” what I want to do because being unsure is really scary, especially this late.  I can get a really good scholarship to Ferrum so I am gonna have to fill out my application and see where that goes.

So right now my primary focus this last quarter is to figure all my college life out and to keep up my grades.  Easier said than done because senioritis is starting to take over!  It is starting to get really hard to stay focused.  Maybe that will get better after SPRING BREAK!  And the senior banquet is coming up!  I’m also getting my senior pics in on Friday!!  All those beautiful snow pics!  I’m excited!…and scared! 🙂

So I’m gonna sit back and try to relax because the final quarter of my high school is just about over!

wwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

For this blog assignment we are supposed to tell who are favorite candidate for the presidential election is.  This is pretty hard because I don’t believe there is any one really good candidate but I guess that nobody is perfect.  My choice right now will probably be Mike Huckabee.  He’s a 53 year old Republican from North Little Rock, Ark.  His education includes a bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University, and a Masters degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He was elected lieutenant governor of Arkansas in a special election andwas subsequently voted to a full four year term in 1994.

I think that this man has the best values and he goes along with a lot that I believe as a Christian.  He is against abortion and that is a major plus.  He believes that marriage should be between ONE man and ONE woman.

I think I will be choosing between the lesser of the evils this election. :-/

                                              *** SENIORS 08***

Well I cannot believe that this first semester is over already!  My senior year is just flying by and I’m just hanging on hoping not to fall off!  Ha!  Looking back, when I was little, I never thought I’d make it to this day…it just seemed so far away and now it’s here!  It’s amazing!  I can’t say that I’m sad though.  I do miss the old days when you didn’t have near as many worries and responsibilities, but I have done a lot of work to get here and I’m not going back!  I have been blessed in so many ways and this school has been such a blessing!

I am not really looking forward to college but this school is really preparing me.  In my outlook, I want to make extra good grades and work hard.  My main goal is to beat Keelie and make it to salutatorian(and the funny thing is…i’m not sure how to spell that!) but that outlook is looking kinda fuzzy but I’m going to do my best!  I’m glad she has been here with me on this ride because it’s been such a great help!  She’s so much fun and she’s a great help when I don’t understand everything…aka…pre-calc and physics!
I have to say that Yearbook, Computer class, and Home Ec have been my favorites this year!  That is putting all of my favorite things to do in a class….taking pictures, cooking, and using the computer!  I think it has helped me to “hang in there” to have those classes because you always have something to look forward to.  I always look forward to Yearbook because it’s the last period of the day and we get to do work, but still have fun in there so it’s always a good way to end the day.

I guess the biggest event in my life that I’m looking at right now though is college.  It’s really hard to get it set in stone what you want to do, where you want to go.  It actually really is scary.  I guess you are afraid that if you make a decision and then you don’t like it then you are stuck, but right now I’m planning to go to a community college and get some of the basics behind me and go from there.  Hopefully this will be a big help for me!  I’m really looking forward to graduation and then taking that next big step in the world!  I think I’m ready and prepared and it’s going to be exciting!  I just got my senior pictures done Monday and I think that’s really when the reality started setting in!  I was like, man, this might be my last Christmas with a lot of people (friends, etc) and it was just crazy to think about!

But I’m ready to start Chapter TWO!

Well the bakerista made a HUGE baking mistake this Thanksgiving!!!  It’s not as bad as you think…but STILL….

OK, so everybody has seen my Gooey Butter Pumpkin Cake recipe, right?  Well I had decided to make it for my family’s Thanksgiving get together.  Wednesday night I was going to go ahead and make it because I had other things to make on Thursday morning.  We were going to eat around 6ish.  So at the last minute I decided to change my mind and wait till Thursday morning to make it.  Yeah, I could get up early!  and then it would be very fresh, maybe even still warm??  Mmmm!!  Wouldn’t that have been YUMMY!  WWWEEELLLL…………………so I get up Thursday a little tired, but all excited about the Thanksgiving festivities!!  OK, so I was going back to my room to change out of my PJ’s but I decided to set my butter and stuff out to be softening.  So…DRUM ROLL…. I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOT TO GET CREAM CHEESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   So silly me!  I couldn’t think of anything else to make.  I had that wonderful can of pumpkin just sitting there waiting to be used and  nothing to use it with!  So, I ran to the internet and at home we have the horrible DIAL UP   AND to add to that, something is wrong with the stupid thing and it disconnects every few minutes, or even sometimes seconds.  SO FINALLY I found a recipe for soft pumpkin cookies.  It took a half a can of pumpkin for one batch so I thought, hey, I can make TWO!  So I did and it was great!!!!!!  I guess I would say that would be one thing I would have changed about Thanksgiving…getting CREAM CHEESE, but to be honest, I think the pumpkin cookies were even better!  So maybe it was all meant to be.  I’ll be posting the recipe on here soon!!!  Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!  The baker who lacks the memory…bakerista!!!
